Parents are encouraged to listen to their child read at home. All children are given a reading diary which is used by staff to record their progress and achievement. These pupil diaries are also taken home daily so that parents can record information about school (or other books) that their child has read at home.
Children are also set homework on a regular basis and parents are requested to support this learning and check completion of the tasks.
Pupil/Parent progress meetings are arranged each term to discuss individual children’s progress.
Parents are also invited into school at various times throughout the year e.g. for sporting events, to take part in classroom activities such as arts and crafts and for school performances.
