Governors Summer Term Letter

Dear Parents, Carers and friends,

Here we are at the end of another school year. It only seems like two minutes since the children were all settling into their new classes and now they are getting ready to move on!

We have all been looking back at the year’s highs and lows and it is good to be able to say that there have been many more highs than lows.

The children have worked hard and are making good progress and we wish them all a very happy summer holiday and look forward to seeing them in September. Our Year 6 class, of course, are leaving us and I have particularly enjoyed the time I have spent with them this year. We wish them well in their new schools and hope they will be happy and successful.

One of our major projects at the moment is the Library and as a result of donations and fund-raising, we are in a position to move forward. As I am sure you can appreciate, the process can take time but hopefully the work should begin in the autumn term

Unfortunately, over the years, the flat roof has been problematic and has needed repairing several times. The good news is that we will be having a new roof put on during the summer holiday, so we hope there will be no more leaks!

We have all been very excited to welcome our newest recruit – George! He has made a very good impression on us all by his friendliness and his ability to stay calm when he is in the classrooms. We look forward to seeing him grow and develop through his training and the positive impact he will have on school life and the well-being of the children.

On behalf of the governors I would like to thank Miss Grainger and all the staff for everything they do and have done for the children this year. I would also like to thank you for the support you give to your children and to the school and I wish you a lovely, sunny summer holiday and look forward to another successful year at Ladywood.

Yours sincerely,

Mrs P Randall
Chair of Governors
