Governors Autumn Term Letter (2017)

Dear Parents, Carers and friends of Ladywood,

I hope you all had a good summer holiday, if you can remember that far back!  Now the clocks have gone back and there have been a few frosty mornings summer seems a very long way away. However, we have got that ‘other thing’ to look forward to at the end of December haven’t we???

The children have come back to school full of enthusiasm as they always do and the new school year is well under way.

It is good to be able to report that the new roof is now complete and so the winter weather can do what it likes, we won’t have any leaks! (Fingers crossed). Work is progressing well for the proposed conversion of the former Caretaker’s bungalow too. A tender process was completed over the summer holidays and the contract has now been awarded; we hope to see work starting before Christmas and will keep you updated with our progress.

As governors we have plans in place to become more involved with the school’s leaders and we will be meeting with Senior School Leaders on a regular, formal basis to ensure that we are fully involved in, and contributing to the school’s progress.

Please don’t forget that you have two representatives on the school Governing Board – Shannon Marshall and Adam Nippers. They are there for you so please speak to them if you have any questions or concerns.

We hope that this coming year will be a successful one for our children and the school. Rest assured the governors will be working hard to ensure that we support and challenge the school to offer the best education we can to your children.

Pam Randall
